    • argumentation as about "winning", defeating opponents, etc.

  • my rationale for thinking that the ideas are very important, but the first-impression concern is a legitimate one

  • discussion of strategies for avoiding these negative first impressions

    • lean in to the "yin-yang" frame

  • a suggestion raised about alternative framings, e.g. framing in terms of "negotiation", win-win framing vs win-lose framing

  • the Light and the Dark sides of argument and persuasion; they're complementary

  • reminder: many of our icons of peaceful sages (Yoda, Gandalf) could also kick ass :)

  • the value of being able to operate with any "mode", the Light mode or the Dark mode, as the situation demands
