  • introductory chat about what we hope to get out of these meetings

  • around the 5 minute mark I talk about the "asymmetry of reasoning", which is an important concept. We're much poorer reasoners when thinking about our own arguments (e.g. more prone to confirmation bias), and much stronger reasoners when thinking about other people's arguments. There may be an evolutionary story behind this. 

  • what are the qualities of groups that actually improve everyone's critical thinking abilities, rather than diminished them?

  • critical thinking is always critical thinking FOR something, ABOUT something

  • want to use these meetings to talk about substantive issues, not just methodological issues about how to reason well.

  • introductory discussion of the Palapa platform as an attractive option for the Dojo community
